Media Advisory on Pricewaterhouse Coopers Fate in the Sterilisation Cases to be Determined by the High Court

Who: LAW, Kenya Legal and Ethical Issues Network on HIV & AIDS (KELIN), African Gender and Media Initiative Trust (GEM) Vs. Marura Maternity and Nursing Home, the Nairobi County Executive Committee Member in charge of Health Services, the Cabinet Secretary – Ministry of Health, Republic of Kenya and the Attorney General.

What: Ruling in Petition No. 606 of 2014 regarding an application made by Marura Maternity and Nursing Home seeking to enjoin Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) and Program Manager – OBA RH as interested parties. The Court will also consider and give directions on an application by the National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC) to be enjoined as a friend of the court.

Why: Marura Maternity and Nursing Home filed an application seeking to have Pricewaterhouse Coopers and the Project Manager- OBA RH enjoined onto the case arguing that Marura Maternity and Nursing Home was only an independent contractor and they were approached by LAW (our client) based on the advice and assessment she had received from Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) and Program Manager – OBA RH parties on tubal ligation.

When: Thursday, 28 January, 2016 at 2.30pm

Where: High Court of Kenya at Nairobi, Court No. 2 on 3rd Floor, Milimani Law Courts.
