On 27th January 2022, the Employment and Labour Relations Court at Nairobi allowed KELIN’s application to be admitted as an Amicus Curiae in Nairobi ELRC Petition No 155 of 2021, a petition that challenges a directive that all public servants must be vaccinated or risk disciplinary action. In this role, KELIN which is not aligned to any of the parties, shall provide information to the Court  on various issues, including the core human rights obligations that guide mandatory vaccination mandates, and how these relate to employment and labour rights; and acceptable limitation to employment and labour rights in the response to public health emergencies and pandemics.

Previous Status Updates
