Validation of the Kisumu County Digital Health Roadmap

On 30th November and 1st December 2023, Transform Health Kenya convened a meeting with the Kisumu County Department of Medical Services, Public Health, and Sanitation in Eldoret County. The primary objective of the meeting was to validate the draft digital health roadmap, a key document to inform the utilization of digital health technologies and data within Kisumu County. The meeting was attended by officials from Kisumu County as well as other Transform Health Kenya partners including KELIN (national coordinator of the coalition), Partners for Health and Development in Africa, Youth Alive! Kenya, Men for Positive Living CBO, Nelson Mandela HIV & TB Resource Centre, and Pictures Youth Group.

Participants reviewed the roadmap to ensure inclusivity as well as creation of a clear link between the document with the Digital Health Act and the Data Protection Act.

Kisumu County Director for Medical Services, Dr. Don Ogolla acknowledged the significance of the digital health roadmap, emphasizing the necessity of ownership of the document by the county and concluded by expressing Kisumu County’s open invitation to all partners willing to contribute to the digitization process of the Kisumu.

Transform Health Kenya remains committed to supporting and enhancing the use of digital health technologies and data to achieve Universal Health Coverage through collaboration on national and county interventions.
