Developing Country NGO Delegation Appoints KELIN Executive Director As Alternate Board Member to the Global Fund

The Developing Country NGO Delegation announced the appointment of Mr. Allan Maleche as the Alternate Board Member to the Global Fund, to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) effective 16 July, 2014.

The Developing Country NGO delegation is one of the 28 member constituencies that makes up the Global Fund Board. The delegation’s main objective is to effectively bring the voices of developing countries’ civil society constituencies to the governance and decision making structures of  the GFATM, and to effectively bring the discussions and decisions made by GFATM Board to civil society constituencies in developing countries. The delegation influences Global Fund policies and practices so that they are continually & appropriately responsive to the needs of those affected by AIDS, TB and Malaria.

Mr. Maleche has been a member of the Delegation since November 2013. His extensive experience working in the field of human rights, and particularly in the areas of HIV, TB and gender, ensure that he will be a valuable addition to the Delegation Leadership Team. Given his research on HIV and TB, and his many years working in and heading KELIN, Mr. Maleche is well prepared to assist the Delegation in ensuring that the voices of civil society organizations in developing nations influence the Global Fund’s policies and programs.

KELIN staff and board members are proud of Mr. Maleche for his new appointment, and look forward to working positively with him in his new role as Alternate Board Member to the Developing Country NGO Delegation Global Fund.
